The term “you” refers to customers purchasing products, booking rental services or otherwise using this website.

These Terms & Conditions apply to our quotations, orders, purchases and applicable rental bookings, together with any additional terms expressly agreed before the transaction.

References to “Goods” or “Products” include electric bicycles, bicycles, accessories and other products offered for sale by Talio.

References to “Rental Services” include the temporary hire of electric bicycles and associated equipment.

All prices are displayed in pounds sterling and include VAT where applicable, unless otherwise stated.

Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before making a purchase or rental booking.

By completing a purchase or rental booking and accepting the applicable terms, you agree to the conditions relevant to that transaction.

Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts statutory consumer rights.

We may update these terms from time to time. Updated terms will apply to future transactions and will not retrospectively change existing contracts without agreement or another lawful basis.

2. Products and Reservations

By purchasing a Product through our website, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18 years old.

  • You have the legal authority to enter into the purchase agreement.

  • The information provided is accurate and complete.

  • The purchase is genuine and authorised.

Fraudulent orders or misuse of the website are prohibited.

Talio sells electric bicycles, accessories and related cycling products.

We endeavour to provide accurate product descriptions, specifications, images, prices and availability information.

Product specifications, colours, components and availability may occasionally change due to manufacturer or supplier updates.

Where a material change affects a confirmed order, we will notify the customer and discuss appropriate alternatives or a refund where applicable.

Orders placed through the website are subject to acceptance and confirmation by Talio.

Products may be supplied with manufacturer warranties or additional Talio warranty arrangements. Any applicable warranty terms will be provided or made available to the customer.

Statutory consumer rights remain unaffected by any commercial warranty.

Our website may contain links to third-party websites or suppliers. Talio is not responsible for websites outside its control, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

3. Modifying or Amending Your Order

All requests to modify or amend an order should be directed to the Talio Customer Care Team:

Email: hello@talio.co.uk
Telephone: +44 (0) 113 262 3352

Amendments are subject to product availability and the processing or dispatch status of the order.

Talio cannot guarantee that an amendment can be completed once an order has been processed or dispatched.

If a purchase was made using a promotional code, discount or special offer, subsequent changes to the order may affect eligibility for that promotion.

Where an amendment changes the agreed price, we will notify the customer and obtain agreement before applying any additional charge.

Where reasonably necessary, Talio may propose a product substitution or alternative arrangement due to supplier changes or stock availability.

If a suitable alternative cannot be agreed, the customer will receive any refund required under applicable law.

Nothing in this section restricts statutory cancellation or consumer rights.

4. Pricing

E-Bikes and Accessories

Prices listed on the website are those displayed at the time of purchase, unless otherwise specified.

Prices may change before an order is confirmed.

All applicable VAT is included unless expressly stated otherwise.

Delivery charges, optional services and any other applicable fees will be displayed or communicated before payment.

Once an order has been accepted, the agreed price will apply unless a change is lawfully agreed between Talio and the customer.

5. Payments and Purchase Cancellations

When purchasing a Product through our website, customers must use an accepted payment method.

Full payment may be required before an order is processed or dispatched.

Talio may decline or cancel an order where payment cannot be authorised or where there are reasonable grounds to suspect fraudulent activity.

To request cancellation of a product order, please contact:

Telephone: +44 (0) 113 262 3352
Email: hello@talio.co.uk

If an order has not been processed or dispatched, we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate the cancellation.

Where an order has already been dispatched, the customer may need to follow the applicable returns procedure.

Statutory cancellation rights remain unaffected.

6. Returns and Refunds – Product Purchases

Online and Distance Purchases

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, consumers purchasing goods online or through another qualifying distance-selling arrangement generally have the right to cancel within 14 days of receiving their goods, subject to applicable legal exceptions.

Customers wishing to exercise this right must notify Talio within the applicable cancellation period.

Email: hello@talio.co.uk

Following notification of cancellation, goods must normally be returned within 14 days.

Customers may inspect products as they would reasonably be permitted to do in a physical shop.

Where goods have been handled beyond what is reasonably necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning, Talio may make a lawful deduction for diminished value.

We recommend returning products with their original packaging, manuals, chargers and accessories wherever possible. Missing original packaging alone does not automatically remove statutory cancellation rights.

Return Shipping Costs

Unless otherwise agreed or required by law, customers exercising a change-of-mind cancellation right are responsible for the direct cost of returning goods, provided this responsibility was disclosed before purchase.

For larger items, including electric bicycles, return shipping costs may be substantial.

Customers are encouraged to use a tracked and appropriately insured delivery service.

Where goods are faulty, damaged or misdescribed, return costs will be handled in accordance with statutory consumer rights.

Refund Processing

Where a statutory cancellation right applies, refunds will be processed within the legally required period, normally no later than 14 days after Talio receives the returned goods or the customer provides evidence of having returned them, whichever is earlier.

Applicable standard outbound delivery charges will also be refunded where required by law.

Refunds will normally be made using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed.

7. Damaged, Faulty or Misdescribed Products

If an e-bike, accessory or other product arrives damaged or develops a fault, please contact Talio Customer Care as soon as reasonably possible.

Please provide, where available:

  • Your order number.

  • Your name and contact details.

  • A description of the fault or damage.

  • Photographs or videos showing the issue.

  • Photographs of the packaging, where relevant.

Talio may request an inspection to assess the problem.

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, consumers have statutory rights where goods are faulty, not of satisfactory quality, not fit for purpose or not as described.

These may include the short-term right to reject qualifying faulty goods within 30 days, and rights to repair, replacement, price reduction or refund, depending on the circumstances.

Products damaged through misuse, negligence, unauthorised modification or ordinary wear and tear will not normally qualify as faulty on that basis alone.

Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot legally be excluded.

8. Products Not Eligible for Voluntary Returns

Outside applicable statutory cancellation rights, Talio is not generally obliged to accept change-of-mind returns for satisfactory products purchased in person.

Certain products and transactions may be subject to specific return conditions, including:

  • Goods damaged through misuse or improper handling.

  • Goods modified after purchase.

  • Goods showing damage unrelated to an existing fault.

  • Business-to-business purchases governed by separate agreed terms.

  • Gift vouchers, subject to applicable legal rights and their stated conditions.

These exclusions do not override statutory rights relating to qualifying distance purchases, faulty goods or other legally protected circumstances.

9. E-Bike Rentals – Important Information & Cancellation Policy

The following terms apply to Talio e-bike rental bookings, including hourly, daily, weekend, weekly and monthly rentals, and relevant guided tours.

Important Information

Please bring the following with you on the day of your booking:

Photo ID: A valid driving licence or passport.

Payment card: A credit or debit card for the refundable security deposit.

Security deposit: The applicable deposit for each e-bike rented, depending on the bike category.

Refundable Security Deposits

The following standard security deposits apply:

  • Standard bikes: £250 per bike

  • Premium bikes: £400 per bike

  • Multi-passenger bikes: £700 per bike

  • Off-road bikes: £600 per bike

Security deposits are separate from rental charges.

Deposits will be refunded following the return and inspection of the bike and all supplied accessories, subject to reasonable and evidenced deductions permitted under the rental agreement.

Cleaning fee: A £5 cleaning fee per bike may apply where a bike is returned in an excessively dirty condition, such as covered in mud.

Cancellation Policy – Bike Rentals and Tours

Cancellations before the booking begins

  • 7 days or more before the booking: A full refund or credit note will be offered.

  • Between 6 days and 48 hours before the booking: A 15% administration fee applies.

  • Group bookings of 4 or more bikes cancelled between 6 days and 48 hours before the booking: A 50% administration fee applies.

  • Less than 48 hours before the booking: The full booking charge (100%) will be payable and no refund will be issued, except where required by law or where an adjustment is necessary to ensure the charge is fair and proportionate.

No-shows: Customers who fail to attend their booking without prior cancellation will be charged the full booking amount (100%), subject to applicable statutory rights and requirements of fairness.

Cancellation charges will be assessed fairly and proportionately, taking account of Talio's reasonable losses and any reasonable opportunity to reduce those losses.

Rescheduling

Requests to change booking dates or times may be accommodated at management's discretion, subject to availability and a minimum of two days' notice before the original booking.

Only one rescheduling request is permitted per booking, subject to management approval.

Early Returns – Weekly and Monthly Rentals

Weekly and monthly rentals are payable in advance for the agreed rental period.

Customers may return their e-bike before the agreed rental end date by prior arrangement with Talio.

Where an early return is agreed, the rental charge will be recalculated according to the actual rental period used, applying the relevant published daily or weekly rental rates rather than the discounted longer-term rate.

For monthly rentals, a minimum charge equivalent to one week's rental will normally apply, reflecting the initial reservation, preparation and potential loss of rental availability.

This minimum is subject to a fair and proportionate assessment of Talio's actual costs and losses arising from the early return.

Any remaining rental balance will be refunded following the return of the bike and calculation of the applicable rental charges.

The recalculated rental charge will not exceed the original agreed rental fee solely because of an early return.

The refundable security deposit remains separate and will be returned following inspection, subject to reasonable and evidenced deductions permitted under the rental agreement.

Rental Extensions

Customers wishing to extend their rental must contact Talio before the agreed return date.

Extensions are subject to availability and confirmation by Talio management.

Additional rental charges must be agreed and paid in advance.

Cancellations by Talio

If Talio is required to cancel a booking due to unforeseen circumstances, including adverse weather conditions, we will endeavour to offer an alternative date.

If a suitable alternative cannot be agreed, a full refund of the cancelled booking will be provided.

Delivery and Collection Services

Delivery and collection services are optional and subject to availability and prior confirmation by Talio management.

Selecting and paying for a delivery or collection option during online booking constitutes a request only and does not guarantee or confirm the service.

Delivery and collection arrangements are confirmed only when Talio has expressly approved the request and communicated confirmation to the customer.

Customers should not assume that delivery or collection has been arranged until they have received confirmation.

If Talio cannot accommodate the requested service, the customer will be notified using the contact details provided and any fee paid for that service will be refunded.

Where the requested service cannot be provided, the customer may arrange an alternative collection or return directly with Talio, subject to mutual agreement.

Rental Equipment, Safety and Return

Customers must follow the operating instructions provided by Talio and use rented equipment responsibly and in accordance with applicable laws.

Any faults, accidents, damage or concerns should be reported to Talio promptly.

The e-bike and all supplied accessories must be returned by the agreed return date and time unless an extension has been approved.

If rented equipment develops a fault or the rental service does not meet applicable legal standards, Talio will assess the circumstances and provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with statutory consumer rights.

Statutory Rights

Nothing in these rental terms excludes or restricts statutory consumer rights, including any applicable rights relating to cancellation, faulty rental equipment or services not provided with reasonable care and skill.
